2010-11 LGBT-Friendly College Fair is coming to a town near you!

lgbtfriendlycollegefair.jpgCampus Pride announced yesterday the dates and locations of our 2010-11 LGBT-Friendly National College Fair Program in tandem with the LGBT-Friendly Campus Climate Index. The only national college fair program of its kind, Campus Pride has expanded to five regional locations and anticipates this year to have record attendance as a result of our youth partnerships and outreach to college campuses.

This year, Campus Pride visits Charlotte, Portland, New York City, Boston and Los Angeles.

Campus Pride College Fair Comes to New York City to Recruit Out LGBT & Ally Students this Friday, November 6, 2009

Nearly fifty colleges to attend national fair program in partnership with the New York LGBT Community Center

New York, NY, Wed, November 4, 2009 – This Friday Campus Pride (www.campuspride.org) comes to New York City to host its national college fair, the only program in the nation for out lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and ally students to find LGBT-friendly colleges. The fair will take place on Friday, Nov. 6 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the LGBT Community Center at 208 West 13th Street, New York, NY. The fair is in partnership with the Youth Enrichment Services (YES) Program of the LGBT Community Center. More information available at http://www.campusclimateindex.org/events.

On the Road: 250+ attend Campus Pride LGBT-Friendly College Fair in Boston, MA

Personally, I want to say thank you to Friends of GLBT Youth who were co-sponsors with the fair. It was a wonderful collaboration. Thank you Shane M., Lex, Tim, Trish, Cory, Eric, Allison, Pierce and all the other amazing volunteers. I arrived the night before and while the Red Sox lost at Fenway, we hit a GRAND SLAM today. The fair had an astounding 40 colleges from across the nation and was actually hosted in the Great Hall of the State House in Massachusetts. Talk about progressive – another example how Massachusetts is leading the way. It truly was a special event, One parent put it best in an email the week leading up to the fair:

National fair program partners with Friends of GLBT Youth, Inc to provide state-wide outreach to youth and families

Boston, MA, Wed, September 16, 2009 -- In less than two weeks, Campus Pride (www.campuspride.org) comes to the Massachusetts Statehouse in Boston to host its national college fair, the only program in the nation for out lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and ally students to find LGBT-friendly colleges. The fair will take place on Wed, September 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Great Hall/Grand Staircase. The fair is in partnership with Friends of GLBT Youth, Inc based locally in Boston, MA . There are nearly thirty colleges currently registered to attend the fair from across the country including: Babson College, Brandeis University, Brown University, Bridgewater State College, Case Western Reserve University, Columbia College Chicago, Colby-Sawyer College, Dartmouth College, Emory University, Emerson College, Goddard College, Harvard College, Haverford College, Pitzer College, Suffolk University, Susquehanna University, Trinity College, Tufts University, University of Massachusetts Amherst, University of Maine Farmington, University of New Hampshire, University of Southern Maine, University of Vermont, University of Maine, University of Pennsylvania, Ursinus College and Yale University.

Campus Pride announces dates for it’s third annual national college fair program this Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 specifically designed for out lesbian, gay,bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students to find LGBT-friendly colleges and universities. West Coast Prep Day & Fair --- Sat, February 27, Los Angeles, CA

Two college fairs will be held in Fall 2009 and then a day-long college fair and college prep day will be held in Spring 2010. The first national fair is in partnership with Friends of GLBT Youth, Inc. based in Boston, Massachusetts and will take place on Wednesday, September 30. The second fair will be on Friday, November 6 in partnership with Youth Enrichment Services of the LGBT Community Center in New York City. The last fair will be a day-long college prep conference and fair to support LGBT and ally youth and families in the college application process, financial aid, search, campus visits, scholarships, etc. This college prep event will be in partnership with the University of Southern California’s LGBT Resource Center.
