Materials Discovery and Characterization - Vertex Pharmaceuticals - San Diego, CA --
Assess development risk in selecting lead drug candidates, obtain a profound understanding of the mechanism of permeation of the potential drug candidates is necessary since actively transported compounds are more susceptible to drug-drug interactions, interspecies differences, lack of correlation between data, and inter-subject variability. The intern will validate an in house Caco-2 cell model to study mechanism of drug permeation (Trans cellular vs. Para cellular and active transport)
