
Calling all chemical and mechanical engineers! 3M has two internship openings, both housed within the company’s Corporate Student Programs initiative. Corporate Student Programs is designed to provide 3M with the opportunity to identify qualified candidates for regular employment, and to provide students with the opportunity to integrate their academic knowledge with work experience. As a Student Programs participant, you will develop skills, and gain work experience in your field of study.
As an Intern within 3M’s Corporate Engineering group, you will serve as a Resident Project Engineer supporting SME capital projects in a manufacturing plant environment. You will specify equipment performance and design criteria, estimate capital equipment and installation costs, as well as develop timelines and project schedules. In addition, you will define and execute procurement strategy, oversee plant equipment design and layout as well as coordinate construction activity. This position is located at 3M’s manufacturing plant in Cordova, IL. Qualified candidates will be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering and have a minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. As an Intern within 3M’s Corporate Research Lab area, you will be responsible for conducting experiments, developing test methods and analyzing data for various projects within the Nonwovens, Membranes, and Ultrasonics area. This position is located at 3M’s corporate headquarters in Maplewood, MN. Qualified candidates will be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Material Science and have a minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
